Cookie & Tracking Policy
At IbiPoint eSIM Shop, we use cookies with respect — just enough to make your shopping smooth and to understand how our website is used. We keep things simple and transparent.
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They help websites remember information about your visit. Some are essential for the site to function; others help us understand usage or deliver relevant advertising — but only if you allow them.
Types of Cookies We Use
? Essential Cookies (always active)
These are required for the shop to function. Without them, checkout, cart, and security features would not work. They do not require your consent.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| woocommerce_cart_hash | Stores a hash of your cart contents to ensure cart data is up to date | Session | WooCommerce |
| woocommerce_items_in_cart | Indicates whether items are in your cart | Session | WooCommerce |
| wp_woocommerce_session_* | Unique session identifier for your cart and checkout | 2 days | WooCommerce |
| ibp_lang_region | Stores your language and region preference so the shop displays in the correct language and currency | 1 year | IbiPoint |
| ibp_lang_user | Stores a language preference if you manually select a language | 1 year | IbiPoint |
| ibp_checkout_lang | Remembers the language used when you entered checkout | Session | IbiPoint |
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare security — confirms you passed a security challenge | Up to 1 year | Cloudflare |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare bot management — distinguishes humans from bots | 30 minutes | Cloudflare |
| __stripe_mid / __stripe_sid | Stripe fraud prevention — used to detect fraudulent payment attempts | 1 year / 30 min | Stripe |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Bot protection during checkout — verifies you are a real person (does not set a persistent cookie) | Session | Cloudflare |
? Consent Management Cookies (set after you interact with the banner)
These cookies are created when you make your choice in the consent banner — whether you accept or decline. They store your decision so the site can remember it and does not ask you again on every page. Because they are part of the consent mechanism itself, they are classified as strictly necessary and do not require separate consent.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| ibicookieA | Stores your analytics consent choice (granted/denied) | 12 months | IbiPoint |
| ibicookieAD | Stores your advertising consent choice — controls whether Google Ads may store cookies and use data for ad measurement (maps to Google Consent Mode v2: ad_storage + ad_user_data) | 12 months | IbiPoint |
| ibicookieAdP | Stores your ad personalisation consent choice — controls whether your data may be used for remarketing and personalised ad targeting (maps to Google Consent Mode v2: ad_personalization) | 12 months | IbiPoint |
? Analytics Cookies (consent required)
These help us understand how people use our site. They are only set if you grant analytics consent.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics — distinguishes unique users | 2 years | |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 — maintains session state | 2 years |
GA4 does not store full IP addresses. Data is retained for up to 26 months (GA4 default setting).
We may also use the IbiPoint Live Visitor Monitor, an in-house analytics tool that tracks anonymous session activity (page views, device type, country) without storing IP addresses or personal data. It uses sessionStorage (not cookies) and auto-purges data within 60 seconds of inactivity. This tool will only run if you have granted analytics consent.
? Advertising Cookies (consent required)
These are used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and, if you consent, to show you relevant ads. They are only set if you grant the corresponding consent.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Google Ads — stores conversion data for ad clicks | 90 days | |
| _gcl_aw | Google Ads — links ad clicks to conversions | 90 days | |
| test_cookie | Google DoubleClick — checks if your browser supports cookies | 15 minutes | |
| IDE | Google DoubleClick — used for ad targeting and remarketing (only if ad personalisation is granted) | 13 months |
Google Consent Mode v2
We implement Google Consent Mode v2, which allows Google tags to adjust their behaviour based on your consent choices. This means:
- If you deny all cookies, Google tags do not store any cookies on your device. In this mode, only anonymous, cookieless signals (called “pings”) may be sent to Google to enable limited conversion modelling — but no personal data or identifiers are collected.
- If you grant analytics consent, Google Analytics cookies become active.
- If you grant advertising consent, Google Ads cookies become active and data may be used for ad measurement.
- If you additionally grant ad personalisation consent, your data may be used for remarketing and personalised ad targeting.
Each consent choice is independent — you can allow analytics without allowing advertising, or allow ad measurement without allowing personalisation.
Mobile Apps (iOS & Android)
Our mobile apps display the IbiPoint eSIM Shop within an in-app browser. By default, all non-essential cookies are denied in the app. If the consent banner appears within the app, you can choose to enable analytics or advertising cookies — but the default is privacy-first.
The app itself does not collect analytics data, push notification tokens, location data, or crash reports beyond what is described in this policy.
Consent & Control
When you visit our website, you can accept or reject non-essential cookies through our consent banner.
- In the EU / EEA / UK, non-essential cookies are blocked until you make a choice.
- In other regions, the banner appears for transparency and you can opt out at any time.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the Manage Cookies link in the footer of every page.
Browser Settings
You can also disable cookies directly in your browser settings. Please note that blocking essential cookies may prevent checkout, cart, and language features from working correctly.
